Out of the horror of war can come some beautiful machinery, and to this day nothing captures the imagination like the P-51D Mustang. Something about that airplane. I dream of learning to fly just to fly one of those ! 

Empire of the Sun was little noticed when it came out in 1987 but it was in my opinion one of Spielberg’s finest works. This was his first movie about World War Two, and yes, that’s Christian Bale in his first movie role.
