Bald Eagle on Hilton Head. #wildlifephotography #hiltonhead #southcarolina This afternon, near my daughter’s school in Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island. I had my 500mm lens, thinking I was just going to capture some close-ups of herons and egrets. Up in the pines I heard the crows going on and on over something. I’ve observed enough birds long enough to know when a gang of crows is onto a big raptor, most often a Red-tailed Hawk or a Great Horned Owl. How cool was it to look straight up in this pine and find an adult Bald Eagle !
The owner of the house below came out to tell me that this guy is pretty much a regular around the pond near his house. The Bald Eagle likes his mullet.
