The most valuable possession you can own is an open heart. The most powerful weapon you can be is an instrument of peace. - Carlos Santana
“We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It’s one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it’s another to think that yours is the only path.” ― Paulo Coelho
The gift of a single day. Hold on to hope. April 7 2013 in Prosper, Texas.
Perhaps it is the purpose of this life for the soul to find its voice. Through all the sorrow and happiness, heartbreak and passion, trial and peace. Something not only endures but begins to form in the shape of both the experience of the present and with a light of the eternal. The spirit finds its stride and in doing so there is a revealing. It could happen in days or decades. The schedule of the soul is a mystery. But there is a journey. Each step forward there is a lightening of our self-imposed burdens. Soon we are bounding across chasms with nothing more than faith. The temporary pain of all the farewells is gradually replaced by the joy of the calling of leading the way. There is so much more, so much more, when the voice is finally found.

Sea Travels. A thousand journeys home.
“Everything will line up perfectly when knowing and living the truth becomes more important then proving anything to anyone” ― Alan Cohen
Follow your heart, listen to your spirit, lift your soul. So much for which to be thankful with even more still to come.
“Knock, And He’ll open the door Vanish, And He’ll make you shine like the sun Fall, And He’ll raise you to the heavens Become nothing, And He’ll turn you into everything.” ― Rumi
There’s this bridge.
Up there, running across at sunset, can be pretty amazing. When you’re between water and sky at twilight there’s an opening of energy that feeds the soul. I’m sure there were more than a few long time Hilton Head residents who did not like seeing that bridge and highway go up over “their” island, but I’m thankful for it. The views over Broad Creek at sunrise and sunset are incredible. I’ve boated under it too. Sunsets and moonrises. Wonderful experiences.
From on top flocks of ibises and egrets. Ospreys in flight at eye-level. Below pelicans gliding inches off the water. The dolphins and acrobatic crows. And twice, a Bald Eagle flying right over me. Once while in my car and then again when I was on my bike.
Driving over late evening last May with my daughter and she saw her first meteor just as we were cresting the top.
From up there, it’s grace I can’t resist.
There’s this bridge.
Begin again in thankfulness and never give up. The journey continues.
